Travel in Colour; Seoul

Perfect palace palettes, Seoul 2026

I recently returned from a wonderful week in South Korea, exploring the sights of a bustling city — the highlights of these (for me, anyway!) usually being what’s lining the shelves of the supermarkets; I am a sucker for snack packaging in different countries!

Outside of the 7-11’s and the CU convenience stores, every turn was a feast of colour; from the bright, blooming roses and hydrangeas, to street signage, beer crates and the subway tiles…

The famous milk in the Seoul convenience stores; the banana flavour really is worthy of the hype!

A true riot of colour, and one of the most visually inspiring trips I’ve been lucky enough to take in the last couple of years. So many ready-made colour palettes in every photo I snapped — I’m looking forward to bringing some of this fresh inspiration into my illustration work in the coming weeks.
