Summer in Sweden Sketch Series

I’ve been in a little bit of a creative funk lately, so gave myself a creative challenge for the month of July to work on some new pieces inspired by the summertime in Sweden. I recently bought some new art materials (always my first attempt at breaking myself out of a rut) so used that as my constraint - and the result is 15 mini-illustrations painted with acrylic markers. My first time using that as a medium, and I loved how easy and fun they were to work with!

I’ve been documenting my series on Instagram and TikTok, the second part of my challenge encouraging myself to get faster and less precious about video editing! It’s encouraging to see the sketches come to life on the video, a reminder that persistence and consistency always pays off, even when the creative spark or motivation isn’t always there.
