Rainbow Spotting: Paris Rue Crémieux

paris_ruecremieux5.jpg

When you think of Paris, bright colours don’t automatically spring to mind, but once you start looking you might be surprised where you spot rainbows of all different kinds! Cafe chairs, bright buckets of flowers, plush velvets in department stores, and even what’s on the shelves in the local supermarket! Colourful buildings are much harder to find around Paris though, with the exception of this one lovely street in the 12th arrondissement, Rue Crémieux. Originally built as workers housing, this pedestrian-only street is paved with cobblestones and flanked with cute cottages in a variety of colours. Which would you choose to live in? If you’re thinking of visiting Rue Crémieux on your next time in Paris, keep in mind this is a residential street and people live in the homes — be respectful and considerate as you admire the beautiful facades!
