Introducing ‘Unlucky’
Introducing Unlucky, by Megan McKean
In the middle of last year, I sent my book Lucky off to print, and was talking with my publishers about what was next. After spending so much time deep in the world of the different symbols of good fortune, I had a lot of extra research about additional symbols that didn’t make the cut for Lucky - or weren’t physical charms or talismans that I could use in the original 50 icons. After a little more thinking, the idea for Unlucky popped up, and instead of exploring symbols of good fortune, this time we’re looking at signs and superstitions!
Introducing 'Unlucky; Signs and Superstitions from Around the World'. Published once again by Hardie Grant and available in bookstores and gift retailers in Australia and worldwide. Unlucky is an illustrated collection of 50 different superstitions and beliefs from around the globe, paired with fun facts and origin stories of each one. From bells on one’s wedding day, to Barbary Macaques on Gibraltar, ravens in the Tower of London and avoiding wearing red in a storm… Unlucky will keep you avoiding misfortune wherever you go.
