Introducing ‘Lucky'
Introducing Lucky by Megan McKean
Where do lucky symbols come from? I started thinking about this concept back in 2020; I was curious about the origins of symbols of good fortune, like ladybugs and clovers, and what places around the world revere as being lucky or not. I jotted down a few notes after some brief research and filed them away for 'future' concepts to explore. Fast forward to the end of 2023, and my publisher asked if I had any projects I'd be interested in querying — which gave me a chance to dust off my pitch about good luck and see if there'd be any interest. And now, almost a year to the day of starting work on this project, my new book Lucky is finally out in the world.
