Better Read Than Dead Summer Reading Guide

When I was still living in Sydney, Better Read Than Dead in Newtown was my go-to bookstore. I loved browsing in there after seeing a movie at the Dendy cinemas nearby, or picking up a gift, or later on, even seeing my own books sold in store and signing their copies. Since it holds such a special place in my heart, it was an extra honour to create the cover illustration for the Kid’s Better Read Than Dead Summer Reading Guide for 2022 - 2023.

I packed in all my favourite summer icons — milkshakes and gelato from the neighbouring gelato stores, fresh cherries and strawberries to take for a picnic nearby, and of course, a few feathered friends I’d often spot around the inner west — curious magpies, scrappy seagulls, and the white ibis! On the cover of the guide available in-store in Newtown now.
